Dual thermostats are included. The controlling thermostat maintains a 75°F water temperature. The second thermostat is a high temperature limit switch set at 90°F and will control the temperature only if the controlling thermostat should fail in the closed position. This high temperature limit switch precludes the need of a scald valve (normally used on competitors showers).
